Why I Coach
I coach to help athletes see who they can become — not just what they can do. My goal is to build confidence, curiosity, and character through sport, so players learn to think, lead, and compete with purpose. Basketball is the classroom; growth is the real subject.
My Journey
My coaching journey began in 2009 with one athlete and has grown into a full development ecosystem focused on discipline, creativity, and learning. I played collegiately at Douglas College, Grand View College (Iowa), and Brandon University — experiences that shaped my understanding of leadership, preparation, and resilience. Academically, I hold degrees in Human Kinetics (UBC) and Education (Brandon University) and am completing a Master’s in Educational Leadership at Keele University. In 2025, I studied coaching pedagogy and the constraints-led approach in Italy to refine how athletes learn and perform.
Philosophy
I believe performance starts with perspective — when players see differently, they play differently. My approach blends skill precision, decision-making under pressure, and mindset training to build adaptable, high-IQ athletes. Guided by a kaizen mindset, I focus on continuous improvement for every player, coach, and practice at Ball Lab.
