Meet The Face Behind Ball Lab Training and Academy
I’m Bijan Jiany, the proud owner of Ball Lab Training and Academy. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
I fell in love with basketball in the fourth grade, but I got cut eight times and never played high school basketball. I then went on to play for Douglas College, earned the school’s first-ever triple-double, and played for Grand View College and Brandon University. My education consists of a bachelor of education in performance enhancement and mathematics, a bachelor of human kinetics, and numerous performance enhancement certificates.
Ten years ago, after years of coaching experience, wanting to inspire people to see their potential, I started Ball Lab Training and Academy with one athlete and myself as the sole coach. Today we have a team of coaches and train over 300 athlete members.
The part of my business that I find most rewarding is seeing my athletes improve and reach goals set for themselves. I similarly enjoy coaching, being my own boss, and my ability to set my own hours.
In my opinion, running a successful business requires the same skills as being a successful coach. I have to skillfully get the most out of my players by getting them to buy into my mission.
As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is my character, commitment, and resilience. My performance-oriented training, leadership qualities, and the teamwork of my fantastic staff have also made us the best choice for many potential NBA players of tomorrow.
I attribute my business’s success to the success of my student-athletes, the long hours of practice they put in, the dedication they show on and off the court.
To me, every day is a chance to reach the stars, and I find imparting my knowledge and skills to future generations has given me immense satisfaction over the years.
When I am not at work, I enjoy staying fit and working out. I also greatly enjoy time with my family, traveling, and relaxing with a good book.
